ESSENTIAL CHANDIGARH BICYCLE TOUR
DISCOVER CHANDIGARH ON A BICYCLE!
In 1947, India was divided into two nations as it gained Independence from the British rule. This partition led to the largest known mass migration in history. Two years later the Indian government decided to build a visionary city, as a Capital to the state of Punjab, to replace the traditional city of Lahore which had been lost to Pakistan. Chandigarh was thus born as a modern, well-planned city that reflected the ambition of its people.
Essential Chandigarh takes you through the wonderful rose garden and leisure valley, part of the 8km long green stretch and the Chandigarh War Memorial, the largest of its kind in the country. You will see the Open Hand monument, an important symbol of the city and the surreal Sukhna lake in the backdrop of the majestic Himalayas.
